Grief changes a person. I still battle with it’s darkness, but I try not to let it keep me bound-up for too long at a time.

Remember playing outside when we were kids? Running around playing games, riding bikes, swimming, fishing, or just laying in the grass looking up at the clouds as they floated by. Then one day we grew up and movement was called exercise and seemed to be more of a chore than a pleasure. What would it take to reinvigorate movement that once brought you joy? Working out does not have to be cumbersome. Find something you enjoy that moves your body, even if it’s just a little bit… and if it gets you outside into nature that’s a priceless bonus.
Video taken on my evening jog in Lago Vista, Texas. (my run times are naturally slow 🐢 but they would be a little better if I didn’t pause so much to enjoy the scenery; oh well, I’ll never be a fast runner so I might as well be a joyful one)
Message from a dream last night:
“Your inner guide can give you guidance but it’s up to you to take the steps.”
What if the most uncertain path can lead to your greatest destination? Keep stepping forward.

Wildflower or weed
Both come from seed
Both grow wild
Wherever they please
Who determines
Which is which
The uncultivated weed
Does not seem to care
That it’s not valued
By cultivated humans
Perhaps it’s unaware
It is considered
Less than the wildflower
Growing next to it
In spite of it’s unpopularity
The weed keeps right on Providing
Pollen, nectar, and seeds
For insects, birds and
Other creatures
Ignoring attempts to
Keep it on the sidelines
The weed proudly
Holds it’s head high
And continues to climb
Maybe we
Should learn a few things
From the lowly weed

You are
At this very moment
Right smack-dab
In the middle
Of your own
Field of diamonds
Acres and acres of diamonds
Others may be able to see
Your diamonds
But you are the only one
Who can mine them
The only thing stopping you
Is you

In the living of life we will each face a variety of experiences. Some good, some bad, some happy, some sad. The rocks strewn along our path can be deceiving. At first glance they may look like obstacles. When we pause for a moment and look closer we may see that they are actually there to elevate us; if we step up on the rock we can see farther. Or maybe they offer a solid surface as a good place to rest for a moment before continuing on our journey.
Yes, there will be times rocks are just obstacles. But when we learn to pause on our path, take in the full scope of the scenery surrounding us, look at things differently than our immediate reaction, we may find a blessing in disguise.

(People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing – continue to rock it – because obviously, God wants you here. Kendrick Lamar)
Loving someone who doesn’t love you back is like hugging a cactus. The tighter you hold on, the more it’s going to hurt.
Let go, heal, wait for someone who loves you. They will show up when you least expect it. When you hug them there will be no pain, they will feel like home.

I am equal to you
You are equal to her
She is equal to him
He is equal to me
Etcetera for infinity
Mix it up anyway you like
I’m not special or separate
You’re not special or separate
We are equal
