Maybe We Would See

The afterglow of sunset

Slowly fades away

Resting on the Caloosahatchee

A peaceful ending to a trying day

As I walk along the rivers edge

I wonder what would happen

If we simplified our lives and

gave thanks for what we have

Instead of working so many hours

To benefit others behalf

Maybe if we slowed it down

Took a breath instead of running all around

We would hear peace

Calling on the wind

Begging us to let it in

If we emptied ourselves of needless opinions

Opened our minds to higher vibration

Took time to take time

And enjoy each other

Maybe we would see

We are all sisters and brothers

Destination Unknown

Destination unknown

My how time has flown

So many plans when I was younger

Filled with passionate hunger

Time passed

Days turned to decades

Plans changed

Some passion remained

The road goes on and on

No end in sight

Until one day you realize

It could end at any time

I have loved

I have lost

I have laughed

I have cried

Learned lessons

Received wonderful blessings

Sometimes I wonder

I truly pause and ponder

What might have happened

If caution to the wind I had thrown

Grabbed a backpack and set off to

Destination unknown

Soar On

In wonder of

your grace

your beauty

your freedom

Do you realize

how blessed you are

To travel

wherever you want

Near or far

Unencumbered by

Money

Society

Obligations

Soar on

Seagull

Soar on

Sing your

Glorious song

Me,

I’ll keep stepping

Until the next life

When my wings

I will don

And like you

I will soar on

“Lois”

Lois

Big smile

Long tight hugs

Easy laugh

You made a home

For my dad

and were a good mother

To my little brother

Alzheimer’s

is a heartless disease

It took your body

and mind

And left us all behind

This past Sunday

No more tears

No more sorrow

No more questions

about tomorrow

I believe

You were dancing

and singing

When the angel bells

started ringing

to welcome you home
