As I begin this new week
help me to refuse any
invitations to argue, participate in drama, feel stress, or get tangled up in strife. Guide me in keeping the gate to my mind open and let all those invitations pass right on through without lingering. Allow Your wisdom and righteousness to enter in as I meditate on Your Word. Amen.
Sometimes I am humble
Sometimes I am not
Situations that require the most Humbleness
Are the ones that test and try me
Pride rushes in
Ego takes over
I feel compelled to defend
And lose my composure
Lord help me get out of
My own way
Help me to remember to be humble
As I serve You today
Dear Heavenly Father,
Happy Father’s Day!
It may seem silly to some that I chose to include You in the celebration of this national holiday. The world has gotten so good at trying to exclude You from all things, please for give us for allowing even the discussion of Your exclusion to occur. Thank You for Your grace and Mercy; Your love; Your generosity; Your Word and it’s interpretation through the Bible; Your Holy Spirit dwelling in me and anyone who believes.
You have lifted me out of dark places so many times, given me hope when it seemed like all was lost, comforted me, made me laugh, and filled my heart with unspeakable joy. You have shown me that what is Yours is mine, if I believe.
Help me Lord, show me how to make You smile, show me how to fill Your heart with joy.
I love You so very much.
Please help me to remember that my words can either plant gardens or burn down forests and help me chose wisely, which one to do. Amen
