Slow equals fast

As we go about our day
Help us remember

Slow equals fast
When we take our time
Fewer mistakes are made

When we pause
To enjoy the moment
Life has more meaning

Rushing is not
Accomplishing

Help us remember this
As we go about our day
As we go about our life

The Process

Trusting the process is difficult. Especially when plans go awry and it seems like ground is being lost or progress stalled. My health and fitness journey is like that.

I was making great strides then life intervened and threw a few stumbling blocks my way. At first I felt defeated. Then frustration gave way to acceptance as I realized the process may not always align with our plans. Sometimes part of the process is a pause. Whether we like it or not.

Pausing can give us time to evaluate where we are at, where we are going, where we should be going. When I began trusting that the random stumbling blocks were actually part of the process, things began to move and make way for a new plan to evolve.

The process has its own way, the right way, for each one of us. We just have to trust that random unforeseen events or obstacles may show up and are supposed to help guide us, not just frustrate us.

Trusting the process, that’s the hardest part.

Row

Light brightly shining
Illuminating the path
But I am off track
Preoccupied
Drifting

Dawn breaks
Hope springs
Maybe today
The fog will lift
Energy will surge

Each day I intend
To pick up the oars
Row
Fully focused
In the direction of my dreams

Another day passes
Oars unmoved

Stand in your Royal authority

Believer’s it’s time to stop getting pushed around my our enemy. He is binding souls with very little opposition. Its time to armor up, pray up, and rise up.

Depression, drug addiction, suicide, poverty mindset, broken families, gender identity, cultural division, religious division, political division, illness, disease, pandemics, mind manipulation, blatant satanic worship at publicized events.

Lord, we come against all things that would bind our family, our neighbors, our community, our nation. A nation founded on freedom and trust in God. Our enemy is getting bolder, scrambling to try and turn the tides. Doing anything to win souls for the dark side. Strengthen us Lord give us knowledge, wisdom, understanding, discernment, discipline. Help us know when to be silent and when to shout the battle cry. Let us not get lost in the lies. When we get weary remind us the battle was already won by Your precious son. Guide us in our march to and through that fateful day when Your trumpets sound.

An experiment

I enjoy sending and receiving handwritten notes and letters. The digital world is causing us to lose the art of old-fashioned letter writing.

Shared snippets of our lives, questions asked and answered, words of encouragement. The length may vary from short “thinking of you” notes to longer “here’s what’s happening” letters. The main point is to let you know I was thinking of you.

Ink scrolling across paper, connecting us.

If you would like to receive a letter from me it’s easy. Just mail me a note. Your note can be as short or as long as you like. I am the only one who checks my mail and I will not share your address or our correspondence with anyone.

In this day and age it seems like everyone has an ulterior motive so you may be skeptical about my reasons for doing this. Encouraging you, uplifting you, loving you, those are my reasons.

My address is:

I look forward to hearing from you soon💕

philosophical donkey

Sometimes I get really annoyed by people and lose my temper. When I lose my temper I can’t see anything in front of me except the jackass that caused my annoyance.

Occasionally I pause and remember that the situation may actually be a message. I recall the story of Balaam and his donkey and try to set aside my frustration and anger to see if there is a message, am I being detoured or detained for a reason, is this stumbling block meant to redirect me?

Mind you I said “occasionally” I do this. My flesh is weak, and has very little patience, so most of the time I am just annoyed by the jackass, not lost in philosophical thought about it.

Numbers 22

Welcoming

The moon hung around, shining as brightly as it could, welcoming the morning as dawn waited for the sun to crest the horizon and clock in as keeper of the day.

What are you bringing?

This doormat made me smile when I read it. Especially early in the morning: “hope you brought wine”

But it also made me seriously ask myself the question: What am I bringing, not just in this moment, but everywhere I go, everyday?

At a spiritual level I Believe, but at a logical level do I truly comprehend what it is that I bring regardless of how I conduct myself?

The Wine
The Bread
The Breath
The Great I Am

All knowledge
All understating
All wisdom
All creation
All power

Mercy
Grace
Forgiveness
Comfort
Love
Joy

As Believers we carry these things with us all the time, everyday, everywhere. We just don’t always actively comprehend the magnitude of what we represent. The authority that we hold.

The people of this confused world truly do hope we brought wine, even when they don’t think they want it.

Lord, let us remember that we always bring the purest wine there will ever be, that Your authority is here for us to use it, and help us conduct ourselves accordingly.

Stand upon THE Rock

Rules can be beneficial
They can also be ridiculous

If we blindly follow the rules
We may find ourselves
Behaving un-naturally

In a few rebellious souls
Instinct ingrained
In who we are
Will always win out

We will ignore society’s
Ridiculousness
And embrace
Our God given right
To stand upon The Rock

Running in the Cold

An excerpt from a conversation this morning when an old friend called to chide me about running in the cold.

Jethro: “Ten degrees is pretty cold for an old southwest Florida native like you Miss Ann.” 🌴

Me: “Yes, it’s pretty cold” ❄️

Jethro: “The summer heat in Texas must have fried your brains, why are you out there runnin’ in this weather?” 🔥

Me: “I’m not really sure why. Do you have any suggestions for how to keep my fingers warm? My work gloves aren’t designed for warmth and the local stores are sold out of winter gloves. I will order some but need a solution in the meantime.” 🧤

Jethro: “Well, I don’t know much about runnin’ but I don’t think you need your fingers much, what if you used a pair of those new thermal socks you just got as mittens?” 🧦

Me: “That’s actually a good idea. I think that will work until I get some gloves! 💡

Jethro: “I’ve been known to have a good idea every once in a while.” 😎

Me: “I suppose, but don’t you keep trying to lie about not having any running experience.” 🏃🏻‍♂️

Jethro: “Miss Ann when have you ever seen me run?” ⁉️

Me: “Well, I haven’t actually seen you doing it, but I heard from a good source that you were running fast, out the back door, when Jessica’s boyfriend was walking in the front one.” 🚪

Jethro: chuckling “Well that tale is partially true, but we was in a barn, in the loft, and I had to shimmy down a post while he was climbing up the ladder. I got a few splinter scars to show for it. My horse was tied up out back so I didn’t have far to run. 🐴

Me: “Cowboy you can be a true rogue sometimes. You better be careful, that fella is twice your size. Splinters aren’t all you might get in the next tale of you trying to get some…love.” 🤣

Jethro: “Go ahead and laugh Miss Ann. I’m in a loft gettin’ some warm lovin’ while you’re runnin’ in the freezin’ cold wearin’ socks for gloves. Bye!” 🤠
